Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager (PM) with a strong background in Systems Engineering and Mission Planning System (MPS).
The MPS is a United States Air Force (USAF) collaboration with the Navy to leverage technical solutions and business practices for Department of War (DoW) platforms and related DAF Battle Network efforts. The system enables users to create a mission plan based on multiple inputs including threats, targets, terrain, weather, aircraft performance capability and configuration.
As the PM, you will lead a large-scale integration effort involving several agile software development partners who are responsible for adding new capabilities to their mission planning systems. Duties include:
You will be responsible overseeing enhancements and ensuring the mission planning systems remain fully integrated as systems are matured, architectures are updated, and new capabilities are added.
You will oversee the modernization and sustainment of US and Foreign Military Sales platforms that utilize mission planning systems.
The work spans architectural design and upgrades, developer support, providing utilities and scripts, as well as cybersecurity support.
You will also serve as the primary point of contact with the Air Force customer.
Manage and oversee the execution of a complex systems engineering contract, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of high-quality products and services
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Air Force stakeholders, including program managers, engineers, and logistics personnel
Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of systems engineers, software developers, and mission planning specialists
Coordinate and integrate the work of multiple subcontractors and vendors to ensure seamless execution of contract requirements
Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation plans, and budget forecasts
Identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans as needed
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and DoW policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; technical field preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or mission planning
5 years of experience as a Program Manager for DoW technical programs
Strong understanding of DoW acquisition processes and procedures
Experience with running Agile software projects and DevSecOps practices
PMP certification or equivalent
TS clearance - SCI eligible
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field)
Experience with DoW systems engineering and acquisition processes, including the Defense Acquisition System and the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)Familiarity with ITAR and export control regulations
Experience with cloud-based technologies and cybersecurity best practices

The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
