The Role
We’re looking for a Game 3D Outsource Manager to oversee external artists and studios creating 3D assets for our games. You’ll be responsible for ensuring outsourced work aligns with our artistic vision, technical requirements, and schedules, and that assets are properly implemented and functional in the Unity engine. This role acts as the bridge between our internal team and external partners, keeping production organized, collaborative, and high quality.
What You'll Do
Source, onboard, and manage external 3D artists and outsourcing partners
Create clear asset briefs, references, and technical guidelines
Review work-in-progress and final assets, providing constructive, actionable feedback
Ensure assets meet visual style, performance, and engine requirements
Support and validate asset implementation in Unity, including prefabs, materials, LODs, and basic scene setup
Track schedules, milestones, and deliverables
Coordinate revisions and approvals with the Art Director and internal team
Maintain clear communication across time zones and disciplines
What We’re Looking For
Experience managing outsourced 3D art for games
Strong understanding of real-time 3D pipelines (characters, environments, props)
Familiarity with common Digital Content Creation tools and workflows (e.g., Blender/Maya, Substance, ZBrush)
Strong understanding of Unity’s asset pipeline, real-time rendering, and performance considerations
Ability to work closely with designers and engineers to ensure assets are correctly set up and game-ready
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to give clear feedback and maintain quality under indie production constraints
Pluses
Prior experience on indie or small-team game projects
Hands-on background as a 3D Artist or Technical Artist
Experience implementing and troubleshooting 3D assets directly in Unity
Experience working with international vendors or distributed teams
Familiarity with stylized art pipelines or specific genre requirements
Shipped titles or live projects involving outsourced content
