Role Overview:
We are seeking a WordPress / Shopify Developer with at least 3 years’ professional experience to join our client’s growing team. You will be responsible for building, customising and maintaining websites primarily on WordPress and Shopify, ensuring strong performance, responsiveness and an excellent user experience.
You will work closely with designers, project managers and digital strategists to deliver websites that meet client goals and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, customise and maintain WordPress and Shopify websites
Build and customise WordPress themes and plugins, and Shopify themes and apps
Ensure websites are responsive, fast and SEO-friendly
Carry out website updates, bug fixes and performance improvements
Integrate third-party tools, APIs and plugins as required
Troubleshoot and resolve website issues efficiently
Follow best practices for security, performance and scalability
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver projects on time
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in WordPress and Shopify development
Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and PHP
Proven experience customising WordPress themes/plugins and Shopify themes
Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Working knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimisation
Experience with page builders such as Elementor or Gutenberg is an advantage
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively as a member of a small team, managing independently allocated tasks that are subject to code review
Must Have:
Strong working knowledge of WooCommerce development and customisation
Solid experience working with Shopify Liquid
Nice to Have:
Experience building Custom Shopify Apps
Familiarity with hosting environments, DNS and deployment processes
Previous experience working in a digital agency
Experience with Headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Content Stack or Directus
Experience with SvelteKit framework
