Internal Auditor
Hybrid - with travel as required

The role is part of the Internal Audit Team which provides independent, objective assurance to the Lookers Motor Group Board and Audit & Risk Committee through internal audits and consultancy activity.
As an Internal Auditor with Lookers, you will have a unique opportunity to join at a crucial time in the Company’s history and will play an important role in helping the business evaluate and develop its control environment to provide the platform for future growth.
The Internal Audit team has great visibility with senior management across the business. We are looking for someone who has a challenging mindset, is inquisitive, engaging and is good with people at all levels of seniority.
At this time, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. Applicants must have existing and unrestricted right to work in the UK for the duration of the role.
Responsibilities
Deliver audits of business areas and processes effectively and efficiently, in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter and Methodology.
Contribute to the development of the risk-based Internal Audit Plan through the identification and assessment of key risks and areas requiring assurance.
Plan and execute individual audit assignments, ensuring that key risks, controls, and governance processes are appropriately evaluated.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive audit working papers that clearly support conclusions and recommendations.
Apply analytical thinking and professional judgement to identify root causes and provide valuable insights.
Communicate audit results effectively, both verbally through meetings and presentations, and in writing through concise, well-structured reports that clearly articulate issues, risks, and root causes.
We are seeking an individual with a strong risk-based internal audit background, ideally complemented by experience in risk management, control implementation, or continuous assurance through data analytics. The ideal candidate will hold an IIA qualification, be a member of one of the CCAB bodies, or be qualified by experience.
You will either have sector experience within the automotive trade or experience in a vocation which meets the attributes detailed in this job description.
Either way, you will need to have strong interpersonal skills, be up for a challenge and be comfortable working both individually and as part of a team.
