Senior Perceived Quality Designer (m/f/d)

About this Role:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Perceived Quality Designer (PQ) to join our Design Operations team. This role is responsible for defining and ensuring the highest level of perceived quality across interior and exterior vehicle design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive design, materials, and manufacturing processes, with a keen eye for detail and customer expectations.
What you will do:
Apply perceived quality rules to ensure the high-end brand perception
Collaborate with design teams to integrate PQ standards from concept to production.
Establish and refine perceived quality guidelines, covering fit & finish, materials, surface quality, sound, and tactile experience.
Support benchmarking studies against competitors to identify industry best practices.
Perform visual, haptic, and functional quality assessments to ensure design intent is met.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing feedback from customers and quality audits.
Communicate effectively across different departments
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in perceived quality, design quality, and engineering production process within the automotive industry.
Strong understanding of materials, finishes, lighting, ergonomics, and tactile perception in automotive design, fit & finish evaluation, and surface quality assessment.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and their impact on perceived quality.
Proficiency in CAD tools and visualization software is a plus.
Good communication & presenting skills in English is required
Resilient under pressure, able to handle multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
Travel in different countries is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience
Additional languages are advantageous
