As a Software Engineer you will work with your manager to lay out and own the architectural vision for a team of highly skilled software engineers in the localization space. In this specific role, you will get to work with the latest AWS technologies in the industry to build next-generation localization and translation solutions to benefit all of Amazon. In partnership with the rest of the International Technology group your team will assist in assuring operation excellence across all of Amazon’s localization services. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a builder and architect, design, and develop world class, scalable distributed systems and operationalize them.
- Interface with our internal customers to understand requirements, set priorities and communicate direction and progress.
- Take on hard, ambiguous problems and articulate solutions that will be able to serve broader Amazon.
- Help develop long-term technical and business strategies in the machine translation space.
- Recruit, hire, mentor and coach Software Development Engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
