About the role:
First Digital is seeking a proactive, solutions-driven Operations Manager to join us in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Deputy COO, you will be part of a small but important team that supports how the business operates day to day.
This is not a traditional back-office operations role. The operations team focuses on understanding how the business operates in practice and helping bring structure, clarity and follow-through to complex activities as products, processes and priorities evolve.
In this role, you will develop a strong, practical understanding of our virtual asset focused trust & custody services, stablecoin issuance and emerging decentralized products, and take ownership of operational initiatives that improve service delivery, scalability and consistency. You will be expected to take initiative, seek out answers where they don’t yet exist, and bring a calm, methodical approach to complex or time-sensitive situations.
You will support new product launches, help resolve operational challenges as they arise, and work collaboratively across teams to translate ambiguity into workable processes. Over time, you will become a trusted operational partner across multiple business areas.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain a strong working understanding of First Digital’s operational workflows across trust & custody, stablecoin issuance and related services, including key dependencies and escalation points.
• Take ownership of operational initiatives and projects within defined business areas, from initial problem-solving through to implementation, escalating issues where appropriate.
• Support the operational readiness of new products and services, ensuring workflows, ownership and procedures are clearly defined ahead of launch.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability and reliability through process redesign, automation or partner integrations.
• Work with teams to document and improve how key operational processes are run, maintaining clear and usable SOPs.
• Act as a point of coordination during complex or time-sensitive operational issues, helping keep work on track and stakeholders aligned.
• Contribute to team knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement by documenting learnings and helping improve how the operations function works as a whole.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience in operations or process improvement, ideally within a fintech, digital assets or high-growth financial services environment.
• Hands-on experience in crypto or digital assets, with a practical understanding of how blockchain-based products operate (e.g. wallets, token issuance, custody or settlement).
• Comfortable operating in environments with evolving processes, and able to bring structure and clarity where things are still being figured out.
• Strong problem-solver who takes initiative, can manage multiple priorities, and follows issues through calmly and methodically to resolution.
• Familiarity with decentralised finance (DeFi), on-chain protocols or token-based financial products is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken English.
