Back to jobs Senior Manager, Software Development China - Shanghai (Puxi) Apply Job Description Job Summary: The Senior Software Development Manager will be responsible for creating a framework and structure to quickly grow your team and scale the software development processes to deliver complex projects quickly and with high quality. This role will provide technical leadership, vision, direction, and mentoring for multiple software engineering teams as part of our Technology department. The Senior Software Development Manager will also play a vital role to help set the technical vision for the company and lead the engineering teams to execute that vision. Job Expectations: • Key member in setting up the technical road map of the company • Responsible for setting up Goals and OKRs for teams reporting to them • Oversee multiple SDMs and development teams • Responsible for resource planning, estimation, and delivery of projects and products • Responsible for building, mentoring, and coaching high performing teams • Responsible for performance management of their team members (quarterly feedback) • performance, set expectations and goals for staff members • Writes and implements quality procedure • Manage and execute software development projects from beginning to finish • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software • Must be able to mentor all levels • Work closely with the other teams to optimize system architecture and project efficiency • Partner with our Product Owner to plan work and prioritization • Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits • Provide regular updates on projects and team performance • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on time and on budget Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Solid communication skills • Must be a team player with get it done attitude • Ability to inspire teams and a salesman of ideas • Strong experience in building teams, hiring, firing, coaching, and motivating staff • Experience leading multiple teams, on-site/remote (10+ reports) • Proficient with Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD) • Familiar with large scale distributed systems and infrastructure. Including but not limited to Kubernetes cluster management strategy, CI/ CD, Redis, Rabbit MQ, etc. • Strong knowledge of system architecture, best practices, and design patterns • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes • Strong knowledge and experience in MicroServices, SOA and n-tier architectures • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment • Expert in project management methodologies and frameworks such as Kanban, Scrum or Agile Equipment Knowledge: • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred Experience Requirements: Generally, requires 10 years of experience with software development, design patterns, and software architecture. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science/Engineering or related field is preferred Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.
