WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a ServiceNow CMDB Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program. You will play a crucial role in assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a ServiceNow CMDB solution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring high standards of data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
Lead the development and implementation of ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping processes to improve asset visibility and data integrity.
Lead HAM/SAM processes, including asset lifecycle management, license compliance, software usage optimization, inventory tracking, and reconciliation and vendor audits.
Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective CMDB solutions.
Establish and enforce CMDB governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CMDB, Discovery, and associated ServiceNow modules.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including workflows, configurations, and knowledge base articles.
Support ServiceNow platform upgrades, patches, and performance optimization.
Integrate CMDB with other ITSM processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Provide training and guidance to internal teams on CMDB usage, governance, and best practices.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bring your CMDB engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Engineer Senior/ServiceNow CMDB Engineer must have:
Certification: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification (i.e., CompTIA Security + CE cert.)
Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Technical skills:
Strong expertise in ServiceNow, ITSM processes and their integration with CMDB.
Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting.
Work experience with HAM/SAM processes, including asset lifecycle management, license compliance, software usage optimization, inventory tracking, and reconciliation and vendor audits.
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, databases, etc.).
Familiarity with data modeling, normalization, and data integrity concepts.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Desired Work Experience/Qualifications:
Current or past work experience in ServiceNow software development is preferred.
Familiarity with additional ServiceNow modules (ITOM, ITAM, SPM, ATF, etc.).
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – CMDB.
Experience with Linux server administration and MariaDB best practices.
Experience with integrations using REST/SOAP APIs.
Knowledge of ITIL v4 principles and practices.
Hands-on experience with Application Control and Compliance Verification (ACCV-V) for ensuring compliance and governance across IT assets.
Desired certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified System Engineer and ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
Required ​Security clearance level: current/active Secret clearance required with eligibility for TS/SCI
Must have current U.S. citizenship for this role due to the required Secret clearance.
This position requires working onsite at the client location 5 days a week initially. A hybrid work schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote may be available after the initial period, based on project needs and client requirements.

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
