Headquartered in Seattle, we’ve expanded to New York, London, Taipei, and Singapore. The Position: We are looking for a Intermediate Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Taipei. In this hybrid role (three days per week in office), you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of our advertising technology platform. You’ll work alongside a talented team and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that support our clients’ evolving needs. Our tech stack includes Ruby on Rails PostgresSQL Elastic search The Engineering team tackles a wide range of challenges—from big data and system scalability to improving user experience. You’ll have opportunities to work across the stack or specialize deeply in backend systems and integrations. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable APIs and backend services. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define technical specifications. Implement backend logic to support AI-enhanced features like automated workflows and intelligent data reporting. Optimize system performance and resolve bottlenecks and bugs. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, knowledge sharing, and maintainability. Conduct testing and debugging to maintain a stable and secure platform. Stay informed on backend and AI technology trends to drive continuous improvement. Contribute to agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong backend development experience, ideally within a fast-paced tech environment. Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or a similar backend framework. Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs. Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred). Familiarity with frontend technologies (React.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) is a plus. Experience or interest in working with AI/ML-powered systems, tools, or APIs. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Heroku, or Google Cloud. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Experience in the digital advertising or martech industry is a plus. Compensation: The total annual remuneration (including salary, bonus and other benefits) range for this role is $1.2 - $1.5 MM TWD, depending on the candidate’s capabilities and experiences.
