About the Job We are looking for a technically strong and execution-focused HRIS Specialist based in Malaysia to manage and optimise our Workday HR platform across multiple markets. This role will serve as the internal Workday subject matter expert responsible for ensuring the HR system operates efficiently, supports employee lifecycle processes, and provides reliable workforce insights for leadership. The role will focus on Workday configuration, governance, reporting, system optimisation, and cross-system integrations, while supporting People & Talent teams across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines. You will play a key role in leveraging the full potential of the Workday system, strengthening system governance, and driving HR digital maturity across the organisation. The HRIS Specialist will be responsible for: Workday System Ownership & Configuration Manage and maintain Workday Core HCM modules, including Talent Management, Absence, and related configurations. Configure and optimize Workday business process frameworks, approval workflows, and system governance controls. Ensure accurate employee lifecycle management within Workday, including hiring, job changes, probation tracking, performance cycles, and offboarding processes. Troubleshoot system errors, workflow failures, and configuration issues, ensuring timely resolution. HRIS Governance & System Optimisation Strengthen system governance and approval controls to ensure proper process flows within Workday. Review and refine workflows to improve process efficiency, compliance, and audit readiness. Identify opportunities to automate manual HR processes and improve system utilisation. Ensure consistent system usage across HR teams and markets. Workday Reporting, Dashboards & Data Analytics Leverage the full potential of the Workday system by developing structured reporting and dashboards. Create and maintain Workday dashboards and analytics to support leadership with real-time workforce insights, including: Headcount reporting Attrition analysis Workforce planning insights Performance review completion tracking Support leadership decision-making through accurate, timely, and data-driven HR insights. HR Data Governance & Data Clean-Up Lead HR data clean-up initiatives to ensure data accuracy and integrity across HR systems. Implement strong data governance standards to maintain reliable employee data. Conduct periodic audits to ensure data consistency between Workday and external systems. HR Systems Integration & Enhancement Support Workday integrations with other enterprise systems, including payroll providers and internal platforms. Collaborate with IT teams and external system vendors on system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements. Identify system gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives for HR digital processes. User Support & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for Workday-related queries across HR teams and business stakeholders. Provide system support and guidance to HR, managers, and employees on Workday processes. Conduct training sessions and develop user guides to improve system adoption and user experience. In this role, we are looking for someone with: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in HRIS or Workday delivery, with strong exposure to Core HCM modules. Proven experience working with Workday configuration, Talent, Absence, and business process frameworks. Experience managing HR system reporting, dashboards, and workforce analytics. Experience supporting HR system integrations and digital transformation initiatives. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with HR, IT, and external system vendors. Basic understanding of regional payroll frameworks across Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. Experience working in a multi-country HRIS environment. Familiarity with HR compliance, data governance, and audit controls. Experience supporting HR digital transformation or Workday implementations. This role will play a critical part in ensuring Workday functions as a reliable, scalable, and governance-driven HR platform.
